HP pushes EliteDisplay E243d display: equipped with pop-up camera

According to foreign media AnandTech, HP released the new office monitor EliteDisplay E243d, which can be used as a docking station for laptops with USB Type-C ports. The EliteDisplay E243d features an integrated pop-up webcam, GbE controller, and USB power support for $300.

The HP EliteDisplay E243d features an IPS panel with 1920 x 1080 resolution, 250 nits brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 178° horizontal/vertical viewing angle, 7 ms response time and 60 Hz refresh rate.

The display is equipped with a pop-up 720p webcam with dual array microphones, a GbE network controller and a four-port USB 3.0 hub. On the mainframe side, since the display is primarily for USB-C, it is best to use it with a laptop with a USB-C port and the DisplayPort 1.2 Alt Mode feature. The display can also deliver up to 65 W of power, which means that most 13-inch laptops (and some 15-inch laptops) can be powered by the monitor. To maintain compatibility with non-USB-C computers, the E243d also features a D-Sub and an HDMI 1.4 input.

With such a display with its own docking station, you can abandon the bulky charger and cable of the notebook, and the desktop will also be color and neat.
